Kitchen Love

I spend a lot of time in our kitchen. I usually enjoy cooking, and we don't have a dishwasher. Therefore, I seem to stand in front of our sink for what often seems like hours... (Someday right?) Preslee could always be found right next to me, playing on the floor, babbling, helping me test the food, and of course sneaking dog food. I felt the emptiness after she left, that I struggled cooking for months and avoided it whenever I could.

Now, as Ledger is cruising around, (taking a few steps by himself) I love the familiar tug on my pants as he uses my legs for balance. I usually don't mind when my legs ache afterwords because he rams into the back of them with his walker. Okay, I do mind, but I laugh about it more often, as I prance around trying to avoid him hitting me and the cupboards like bumper cars.

Yes, he is reaching for dog food, my mom says I used to do the same thing... What an awesome trait for both of my kids to inherit.
And yes he has more than one pair of of Pj's, all of my pictures I've posted of him lately are with him wearing these football ones. :)
I am more than lucky to be able to stay home with Sledge Hammer each and every day.

Five years ago, I would have never guessed hanging out in the kitchen with my little boy would be the place I would actually prefer to be.

Thank you Patrick, for working so hard to allow it.

I can't believe he is taking steps? So crazy! Roxie just started walking, slowly, with her walker...so many changes in such a short time! They grow up so fast!

I notice the Lysol bottle on the bottom shelf within easy reach of the baby. This is dangerous. Homes with children should be childproofed for their safety and cleaning fluid(and all toxic items) must be stored up high, safely out of their reach! I was shocked to see this!

Anonymous... I totally see your point, but still. That was heartless.

It wasn't meant to be heartless but well-intentioned, as helpful advice.

You're so amazing! I love reading your blog and seeing what an inspiration you are to me and my family. Thanks so much for all your posts! I was thinking as I read the last paragraph about you staying home with him every day. I do the same thing with our little girl and just recently became a Mary Kay consultant as a plan b or back up plan :) Its nice to have the flexibility and some extra spending cash. If you're interested in some info, let me know :) 801-631-2989. Thanks again Ashley. You're such an amazing mother!

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
