Twas the night before Christmas

Christmas eve afternoon, we took it easy.
We ate Chinese food and watched the Lion's game.
The Detroit Lion's won, which means they're officially in the playoffs.
Later that evening, we drove to Rexburg for dinner and white elephant gifts at my Grandma and Grandpa Wightman's house.
The meal was amazing. I loved the red punch.
Uncle Greg made some amazing rolls :)
There were some real good white elephant gifts this year.
We left with some orange sticks and a magnetic level to hang pictures with.
My Grandma played the piano, while everyone else sang. In between songs, the story of the Saviors birth was read.

Pat doesn't come from a big extended family so he usually gets a kick out of holidays.
Fun times, I have so many memories of doing this every year.

My grandparents gifts were different this year. I thought they were pretty neat.
This was my mom's.

My mom is the only girl, so my Grandma did hers just a little different than her brothers.

The boys frame contained five generations back to the first Wightman to join the church.

My mom's didn't go as far back, instead they had added Preslee and myself to it.

Christmas Eve was the perfect way to kick off Christmas.
Thanks everyone for the fun night.

Does your Uncle Greg teach religion? I took several classes from him when I was at Ricks, and I learned things there that haven't left me for the past 10 years. He strengthened my testimony and solidified my faith in Christ more than anyone ever has, even on my mission. I've never forgotten that.

After reading your blog for over a year now, I feel like I know you....Even though we have never met, you are truly an inspiration to others, including me. You are a wonderful example of how we all should be. I know your darling little Presley was celebrating the true meaning of Christmas right along with you. We have been so blessed and have been given some of the greatest gifts man kind will ever know. Not even the biggest box, wrapped in the prettiest paper and ribbons can ever hold them. I hope this special holiday season was a good one for you and your sweet little family and the greatness of it continues throughout this new coming year! By the way, that frame idea of your grandmas is awesome! I will have to remember it. Take care!

Glad you had a wonderful Christmas. I like Ledger's little Santa outfit - cute!! The picture of the 6 generations of women in your family is priceless. May the joy and peace of the season linger in your heart for a long time to come. You are making a difference in so many lives with your strong faith and trust in Heavenly Father. You inspire me to want to be a better person. Thanks for being a friend to Kendra. I know you have helped her in a lot of ways - I think you have helped each other too. Loving someone and helping someone are the best gifts we can give. they are gifts that last forever. The love never ends!!

Um...I'd just like to point out that technically you didn't actually leave with the orange sticks because I recall seeing them on the counter for the next day or so until we finished them off for you. :) Hope you got better use out of your leveler...too bad Pat missed out on the cologne.

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
