Pumpkins

We packed up all three kids and drove a few miles down the road to pick out a few pumpkins. Within minutes of piling out of the car, the twins were crying, and Ledger was on the ground screaming due to a huge goose egg on his forehead, we’re still not sure how what happened. Once we paid for the pumpkins and were all back in the car, Pat and I just looked at each other, shook our heads, and then busted up laughing. Oh how our life has changed.

This was the only picture picking pumpkins due to all the chaos.

Once the five of us, along with our pumpkins were on the road, Pat and I decided to make a trip out to the cemetery. It was nice to get out of the house and spend some time as a family.  We don’t know how long Ledger will be thrilled to visit the cemetery, so we’re taking full advantage of this stage.

We then attempted to carve the pumpkins, but due to total chaos, we only finished one. The other two sat on our front steps hallowed out, just not carved.

While Pat and Ledger worked on the pumpkins, I tried consoling these two.

Though it was way more work then it was probably worth, I’m glad we picked and carved a pumpkin. Ledger was thrilled with the end results.

You are such great parents. And it feels so much better to laugh at times like that rather than scream! The little guy on the floor crying with his brother next to him brings back memories! Those early days sure are trying. It's a good thing they're so darn cute, right!?

the attempt is a Victory in its self! Little ones for sure make life full of those (Shaking your head) moments. :) My 3 boys are a handful at times especially when Our little girl is crying but sometimes it makes me thankful for just being at home after the adventure is over ha ha. :)

I remember the first time my husband and I went out to eat after our twins were born. Ten minutes into it we were wondering why in the world we ever decided to leave the house!

I agree, I love the hair color...though as a blonde, you rock it too! I guess we are a lot alike. We both have oscillated between colors! I am sticking to platinum...cheaper, I can do it myself, and I think it fits me! LOL Truly, what a blessing to visit her gravesite on these occasions. When we first moves, there were pictures on all the holidays sent to us of someone who remembered...either my twin or the grandparents. Now, I don't think there are many visits. ALL I want is for someone to go and wash the headstone on occasion...it lies beneath a tree, and birds poop on it all the time. Ugh, now the remembering is stirring up tears. Funny how it comes unpredictably, and the tears just fall like rain. Love you guys.

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
