Preslee’s Birthday

I’m a little behind on blogging! So I’ll be playing catch up :)
The 17th was Preslee’s Birthday, and I couldn’t believe we were on our 3rd time around celebrating without her. There were a lot less tears this year. I’m not sure why, but Thanksgiving was by far the hardest day for me rather than her Birthday or Christmas… maybe because it was the start of the Holidays?
Anyway, back to Preslee’s Birthday, while Pat was working, Ledger and I got the RAK cards ready to be delivered. Here are just a few.

We made a stop at the Police Station and Fire Department, both who helped in rescuing Preslee from the canal. The Fire Dept. put on a huge fundraiser for us.

Yes, it was one of those cold days I left Ledger in his PJ’s for the majority of the day :)
Later that evening we attended the Siddoway family Christmas Party. We ate dinner, and then they pulled out a cake with all the December Birthdays. I didn’t expect it to mean so much for people to remember Preslee’s Birthday, but it did. Thank you.

We played Bingo, and once you won, you got to pick a Beanie from Just Sports.

And then my sweet Aunts blew up glow in the dark balloons and we released them. It was super windy, so they flew away faster than I expected.

Thank you to everyone who let us know they were thinking of us, participated in RAK, and who joined us and planned the balloon release. I think the further out we get, the more the texts and calls mean to us.
Happy Birthday Monkey, we miss you.

Just because someone we love is in heaven doesn't mean we stop missing them or don't think of them often. Your little precious Preslee will always be part of your family so I think it is SO sweet that her name was on the December cake and that you sent balloons her way. My little grandson was at the cemetery to celebrate my great-niece Makenzie's angel day. He was so cute with a balloon tied to his arm (so it wouldn't prematurely get loose). He he called them "bloons" and was so excited when all those hundreds of pink, white and purple "bloons" went up in the sky toward heaven for all those little children who are there. I can't begin to imagine how much you miss your little girl but I know she is safe and at peace in her Savior's loving arms. It doesn't take away the missing or the heartache but hopefully it helps you feel peace too. I hope this shiny new year is a good year for you and your family and that you have many wonderful happy times that will be precious memories for the years to come. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Such a nice way to remember Preslee's birthday. I know what you mean about how the messages mean more the further out you get.

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
