Sprint Triathlon Training...

So far I've learned:

Triathlons can be expensive!

First time riding a bike since Jr. High makes your rear incredibly sore.

Swimming in open water with a wetsuit makes the workout sooo much easier.

Riding a road bike for the first time, clipped in, is terrifying. I was so nervous I didn't shift gears for 3 miles.

People laugh but I pack a wetsuit in a backpack, jump on my bike and ride to the lake. Put all my gear on and start swimming. Once finished, pack everything into my backpack, jump back on the bike, and ride a longer route home.

August 18th is going to be here before I know it.
Next goal is to ride the road bike on hills.

Wish me luck!

You are so brave! I rode my cousin's road bike and tipped it over within like two feet...good thing I wasn't clipped in! In my defense...those tires are REALLY narrow. Good luck!

Luck - oh boy, I would need more than luck. I would need a miracle to finish one part of it. I will wish you luck and pray for you too. You are so brave Ashley for attempting this. Keep us posted dear one.

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
