Home Ashley Ledger Patrick Preslee Oh boy!

Oh boy!

After we lost Pres I desperately hoped another little girl would be quickly sent our way. A girl is what I knew, what I loved, and what I drastically missed.

I remember watching Patrick with Preslee, it brought out an entirely different side of him, and I loved watching it. She could work him over with just a smile or a hug. Preslee definitely loved her Dad.

Pat would always mess with her, and she absolutely loved it.

But now, after having Ledger, it's no secret I'm a little obsessed with the kid. There's no doubt he was supposed to come next, and heal a big part of hearts that we never expected to be healed.

Pat is always teasing me that I'm much easier on Ledger than I was with Pres... and it's probably true. Pat has to constantly remind me that it really is okay for me to put Ledger down every once in awhile... He's probably right :) Pat laughs and rolls his eyes when my explanation is, "I can't help it, I'm smitten!" Maybe it's because Ledger reminds me so much of his dad, therefore I find myself falling in love all over again.

I guess what I'm getting at is, I just never expected for a little boy to capture my heart like Ledger has. And I definitely never dreamed that being a mom would mean so much to me.

Oh Ashley! You are too cute!
I see NOTHING wrong with holding, loving, and just being with Ledger, 24/7.
It is not too often that one gets a FABULOUS blessing like him and KNOWS it and lives life to the fullest with it.
Keep on loving on that little guy, he is so cute, and from the pictures one can tell he is a happy little man.

Thank you so kindly for sharing Preslee and Ledger with all of us.

after 2 girls in our family, we were blessed with a little boy. I only knew girls and I was shocked at how quickly I fell in love with that little boy! Now at almost 5, he is still the love of my life - such a surprise, especially in a family with 3 other girls!!!

I love how in love you are with him. You are the cutest mom. He is so stinkin' cute and so dang handsome! I'm really glad that you were able to have another one quickly because it's obvious that being a mom is what you love and it's your forte. You guys have a sweet family.

I know exactly what you mean! My daughter is our first born and when she was 9mo old, we found out we were expecting again. I hoped and prayed for another little girl to be her playmate (and because I have 5 sisters) but we were blessed with a boy instead. At first, I was scared and a bit sad but my son is two now and he is my little buddy! He is definitely a momma's boy and I baby him a lot more than I did her. :)

Ash - you said it perfectly...falling in love all over again. I felt the same way with Ezzy from the beginning and I didn't understand it at first. My mom asks me all the time if Jake is jealous of Ezzy. I never knew what I was missing by not having him. I love seeing pics of you with Ledger because he's just right behind my little man.

    Ledger's a lucky boy!

Ash I am the EXACT same way with Hayden, something about those little boys totally steal our hearts. Adam reminds me all the time that I expected way more of Paisley... it is funny how they do that! But I must say at 18 months Hayden is gets away with way more then Pais, and he knows it... So happy that your oh so handsome man came to help heal your heart! Love these pictures you are so beautiful!

I love all the pics Ash! So cute. Since we only have one girl, im a little nervous that maybe well have a boy someday, I have no idea how boys work, but as you have shown so amazingly, boys are such a big blessing {just as girls are} and they steal a huge piece of your heart, nothin like a mamas boy!

I had 2 girls first and love them sooo much! I never had a sister so for me to have 2 girls was the best thing for ever. Then we were surprised to get pregnant with a boy after not even trying, it was the best thing ever. I love him as much as my girls (of course!) but there is a different dynamic about it....maybe because I am a girl and I understand girls better? All I know is that I have never been so in awe or amazed by any other boy in my life. I too am smitten :)

I'm so glad to read these comments. My middle child, our second boy, is his father, only shorter. No wonder I fell for him, just as I did the larger version!! :). My older son and their little sister are just as big a blessing but my middle stole my heart!

My sisters are so hard on their girls and easy on the boys. They accuse me of the same thing. I think that is the balance that God gives us as husband and wife.
I'm sure after loosing your daughter it is even more intense to hold your baby. Thanks for sharing.

you have such a positive attitude about everything that has happened. It is very inspiring. My friend lost her little boy in a car accident on Christmas day. You can read her story at www.kellypack.com or packoffixations.blogspot.com

I fell in love with each of my kids one after the other. A boy first, and I thought I would never love a girl as much as I loved him. A little girl then turned up, and I thought, gee it's good I didn't have a girl first, because I would never have wanted a boy next ! And then, another girl was born, and I fell in love with her, but totally different, this was was my "baby", my last-born, as if "youngest" is a gender by itself !
You love being a Mom, and Ledger loves being Mommy's boy, and your husband enjoys watching your relationship and is so proud to be Ledger's Dad.
    Perfect fit.

I adore my boys too. You are so positive and I love that you are helping others.

There is an LDS family that lost their boy in October and now the father has just passed away. She needs a lot of support.

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
