Missing Her

My mind is filling up with thoughts about Preslee’s last week of life – due to the fact yesterday marked 5 years since her accident. Since I hate focusing on that difficult week, I found myself sorting through pictures.

Looking for happy times.

How my heart aches for her.

(Look at her little toes :)

Boy, did this girl have a gift to love. She was extremely aware of other people’s emotions which I haven’t seen in too many toddlers before. There were many different moments, right before we lost her, that I saw a glimpse of an older spirit in her tiny little body. At that time, I didn’t realize how rare it was because, well… she was my first.
But other’s were continually commenting about it.

There are so many things my heart wishes for, but won’t come true in this life.
We’ll just have to keep trekking on, leaning on the promise that families can be together forever.

We sure do love and miss you, Monkey.

Love,
Momma

She was so adorable!! Such a cute little smile!! Precious little daughter! Just looking through old pictures is just a reminder that "she was here", "she was real", "she was yours" even though time presses on it is still heartbreaking! HUGS to you!

I hope these words provide hope as you faithfully raise your boys and do your best so that you and Preslee will be together again. Elder Dalin Oaks at President Packer's funeral: "Love lives on, and death is only a horizon that limits our vision of the glories that lie beyond. The life that we treasure here in mortality is only temporary, but the supremely eternal life we seek is infinite in duration and incomprehensibly glorious in quality, and it is all made possible by the Savior Jesus Christ." These words resonated with me over the weekend. I can't begin to know how hard it must be when these days come that mark her coming to earth (such as in December) and her leaving this earth (such as in July). But the glorious reunion is awaiting all of you and Preslee. She was and is forrever your beautiful beautiful girl....she must be so valiant and special....perfect in every way....and so perfect she doesn't have to go through the challenges and heartache of this earth. But I'm sure she would have done so she could be with her mama. I think she's missing you too. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
