Home Cannon Cruiz Patrick Utah We’re Moving!

We’re Moving!

I’m extremely proud of this guy.

ADPThe past few months have been incredibly stressful as we’ve searched for a job, but last week Pat was offered a job for ADP AdvancedMD in South Jordan, UT. (His office is next to IKEA, yay!) Yes, we’re moving to Utah! He’ll be helping private medical practices with their medical software and is really excited about his job.

Its a little bittersweet, we’ve lived in the same house for the past 7 years and our entire marriage, and we’re moving away from family, (What am I going to do without my mom?) I know, I know, we’re only a few hours away from home  :) But everything fell into place perfectly and we feel this is where we’re supposed to be.

The next step is to find a place to rent, somewhat close to South Jordan. Any ideas? We’d appreciate any leads! Pat starts mid May so we have about a month and half to pack up.

We’re EXTREMELEY excited to start this new chapter in life.utah

Utah here we come!

Daybreak is a great place for families but it can be a little cookie cutter. We live in Sandy and love it because it's more established and closer to the mountains and canyons. But it can get pricier the more east you go. ksl.com is a great place to start. Good luck!

congrats! Maybe I'll get to run into your beautiful family one day! :) I love the Herriman area but it's not necessarily close to Ikea! I would look into Sandy if you can afford the area, but Riverton, West Jordan or Draper are beautiful areas as well! :)

If you are planning to be here through your childrens school years you NEED to check out the district you plan to move into. Canyon School district has more money and a lot of people (myself included) try to move into that district. Jordan school district is not a great one, as the legislative is not fond of them and are always finding ways to take money from them. Congrats this is an exciting adventure. Oh there is something called pace report cards that you can look at to find out which schools rank better.

Ashley, So excited for you guys!! I live in Riverton which is a neighboring city to South Jordan. I would love to adopt you:) it is hard to be away from your Mom when you have small children. I really would love to help out if it wasn't so creepy for a complete stranger to hang around your sweet boys. I will keep my eyes open for houses renting in the area and as mentioned above ksl.com is a good place to look Lehi, Riverton, Bluffdale, South Jordan, Draper & Herriman would all be cities close to Pat's office. email me if I can help rcbe1@netzero.net Charlene

Northern Utah County is a bit cheaper than Salt Lake County and the commute would be 15-20 minutes max. We live in Lehi, my husband works in South Jordan, and it takes him 17 minutes. Many people do this commute because it is a bit cheaper to be in Utah County. Honestly though you can't go wrong in any place you end up in either county. It's all very family friendly with lots of safe neighborhoods and decent schools. Good luck!

I would also recommend Daybreak in SOuth Jordan. Lakes, parks, trails and many young families.

We lived in Riverton for about a year and we really enjoyed. It isn't too far from South Jordon either. We lived in an apartment complex called Legacy Springs which was close to several parks, the library and the Oaker Mountain Temple. Here is a link to their website just incase you are interested: http://www.legacyspringsapts.com. Good luck on your new adventure!

We moved to the Herriman area just a little under a year ago and we are loving it! We are actually on the border of Riverton and just minutes from a hospital, shopping at The District, lots of yummy restaurants, Trax, and about 10 minutes from Ikea. The place we live is called Terrameer and it's an entire neighborhood of rentals - single family homes, twin homes, and townhomes with 2-4 bedrooms. You should check it out! Their web address is treorentals.com. Good luck with your move and new adventure!

My niece and nephew both live in Riverton but I have lots of friends in Herriman. Anywhere close to Bangerter Highway would be great since it would be an easy commute to Pat's work. The east/west traffic can be dicey during end of day rush hour but that's life in the "big" city. There are lots of young families living in Riverton, Herriman and South Jordan. I like to take my 4-year-old grandson to Southtown Mall...free play yard and then he gets to pick either the train or carousel. I hope you will enjoy living in Utah and it will be a destination place for your parents and family to visit you. Just remember that there is a big huge construction project at the Point of the Mountain and it won't be done any time soon. When it is done, commuting from Utah county to SL county should improve. Another big construction project on Bangerter and Redwood Road but that shouldn't be too much longer (we hope). Congrats to Pat!! I'm very excited for this new chapter in your life.

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
