30 Weeks Pregnant with Twins

sullengers.com

How far along? 30 weeks! Woohoo!

Maternity clothes? I put on a few maternity shirts this week and they didn’t fit… I even ripped a strap on the dress below when I sat down because it was too tight. These babies are growing! At home I’m usually wearing whatever is most comfortable, and even Pat’s shirts leave my belly hanging out. I cringe every time the doorbell rings, so if you drop by unexpectedly, don’t say I didn’t warn you if you you see my belly. Smile

(2011 - 36 weeks with Ledger)

Sleep: Hmm… I’m exhausted each night but with constant kicking in my stomach and having a difficult time rolling over, I’m not sleeping much. Even on my side I struggle breathing, it’s better if I can prop myself up. Our house has been HOT, and I can’t seem to cool down. Pat has been sleeping on the couch for quite some time, with all my tossing and turning, huffing and puffing, he doesn’t get much sleep in the same room as me. He’s been a saint.

Best moment this week:  Ledger randomly hugging my belly. If you ask him where the babies are he’ll point to my stomach.

Miss Anything?  Running. Watching my dad and cousins run in the Dam Marathon over the weekend made me miss all forms of exercise.

Movement:  They are super active, people have been commenting on how much my stomach moves while talking to me.

Food cravings:  Banana cake with cream cheese frosting. Don’t ask me how I got on this kick. I’ll continue dreaming until after I deliver these two boys. I haven’t had any desserts since learning I have gestational diabetes.

Symptoms:  Strong Braxton Hicks all day long. There is so much pressure on my pelvis that I struggle walking long distances. My left leg and rib is killing me. Pat teases me that I walk like I’ve been beaten up…I tell him growing two babies is hard work!

And I couldn’t leave the Birthday Boy out today.

Happy birthday, Ledger! My neighbor's grandson is turning 2 soon, too! He has blonde hair just like Ledger, too...except it's curly :-)

I love reading about your babies & your pregnancy! I've been reading your blog for a couple years now. I keep finding myself saying "Oh, I have this friend who is pregnant with twins!" Then I think, "Oh, we've actually never met...." but I think you are fabulous and I'm grateful you so willing to share with all of us. :)

Since I just bought 2 cabbages yesterday, I can literally picture those 2 bouncy boys in your stomach! SO SORRY you are struggling - pregnancy is a lot of work. You've got this - only a few more weeks and then you'll have the tiniest 2 babies to take care of! I can't imagine they'll be big because Pres and Ledger were so small!

You look beautiful! Growing babies IS a lot of work, and you deserve to walk like you've been beat up :). I can't believe Ledger is two already! Feel better and go soak your feet in some cold water haha. That always helped cool me off.

Happy birthday Ledger...you are a big boy now!!! Ashley, you look adorable and glad the little cabbages are still cooking inside your belly for now. My little grandson's name is Braxton. My cute daughter-in-law told me "is it wrong for us to name him after my labor pains?" That made me laugh!! My little Braxton is a cute little labor "pain" sometimes but he is very sweet most of the time. Boys are really fun but they can also be very energetic and full of mischief. I love the 2-3 year old age and have fond memories I had with my grown-up son when he was that age. Have a wonderful day!!

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
