Zoo

We took advantage of the warm weather and went to Tautphaus Park Zoo. A tiny little zoo here in Idaho.

It was a bitter sweet experience, the summer before the accident I had planned to take Preslee for the first time, but we never made it, due to things coming up last minute for the people we had planned to go with. I have no idea why I've felt so bad for not taking her, but it seriously has eaten at me. Looking back I wish I would have still went, just the two of us, but I thought we still had the rest of the summer to make it happen.

So Ledge and I enjoyed it together, along with Candee and Kayson. Ledge was pretty oblivious to it all, but he did notice the bear and the petting zoo animals, which made it fun.

Here's a few of our favorite moments from that day.

I'm definitely grateful that I had this little squirt to take with me.

Oh my, your blog always gets to me right. there. So happy you were able to enjoy this wonderful day with your guy.

I think I can completely understand how that slip of an opportunity missed with Preslee would have eaten at you. But I guess, maybe just focus on all of the things that you WILL be able to do with her one day that'll be ever so much more special than a day at the zoo. Hope that helps a little? I am always so moved by your continuing strong faith and spirit Ashley!

Ashley, you probably get hundreds of requests to reach out to people, but here is one more. I feel you can offer her help and support since you've lost a child too. Maybe you already know about this situation. I'm sure Cindy could use your wisdom and understanding: http://www.echansen.blogspot.com/

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
