The power of family!

Hi All, It's been a while since we have posted, sorry. Yesterday was such a rough day filled with such sweet moments and scary moments that I think we have all been grateful for a quiet day. Preslee didn't move much yesterday or open her eyes very much, but today she is opening her eyes more. She is still on the blood pressure medication, but she is still fighting. We have been watching the people checking this blog and it is amazing the support, love and prayers that good friends and complete strangers are showing for this amazing little family. It is very humbling.

Today was a very special day for the uncles in Preslee's life. Her uncle Rhett was one of the family members that were frantically looking for her and he was in and out of the water, following the canal desperate to find her. After much searching, he was the first family member to get to Jeff and Mike as they were working on her. In Idaho Falls, he wouldn't leave the room as they were working on her. Rhett was able to go to Primary's today and Ashley and Pat both saw a noticeable difference in little Preslee's demeanor as he talked to her and loved her. Thank goodness for family.

Trent (Ashley's dad) was able to talk to another uncle Rhett today. Ashley's brother is in South America serving an LDS mission and they were able to talk to him and explain everything that is going on. Ashley and Rhett are very close and Preslee and Rhett are such little buddies (if you can call Rhett anything little). Tender Mercies from the Lord happen everyday.

We have experienced so many miracles, many to precious to talk about yet, but we are all still praying for one more. Thank you all for sharing your love, faith and strength. I know that Pat and Ashley would give everyone of you a hug right now if they could. We love you Preslee. Keep fighting. Love Aunt Nic

Hi Pat and Ashley. I am one of Mike and Jeff's nieces. Just thought I'd tell you our whole family is thinking of you. Mike is posting updates about Preslee on his Facebook page. -- My husband and I have a girl about Preslee's age, and she had to be in Primary Children's for about 3 weeks as a newborn. We know how painful it is to see your little baby unresponsive and hooked up to all those machines and getting so many pokes and drugs. We also know the joy of such a tiny thing as seeing her open her eyes! The doctors at PCMC are THE BEST around. Preslee is in great hands. We are praying for her and your family. We hope you get that miracle.

We are praying for the miracle we are all hoping for. I'm so glad to know that Trent was able to Rhett. I have been thinking about Rhett a lot since Preslee's accident. I know it has got to be so hard for him to not be able to be here for her and you too Ashely. What a great kid he is! Please know we are always thinking of you and your family and praying for you as well. Thank you for the updates. Love to you and your family.

    Ashley and Pat:

We don't know each other, but I was alerted to your situation through a blog I frequently read.

What a tough and terrifying time for ya'll. My heart truly aches to see little Preslee. But it is uplifted to see your positive demeanors and outlooks. You truly have faith in our Lord God Almighty and I pray your faith continues to hold you strong.

My thoughts and prayers will continue for Preslee. I will continue to read your blog, watching for updates, and God willing a miracle story.

    God bless.

Hi, yes, we are complete strangers, but I found your blog from another blog that I love to look at. :) Just wanted you to know that your family is an inspiration. Little Preslee is so sweet- a little older than our baby boy- and we are praying for her and for your family. It is heartbreaking to think of watching our child suffer, so I know it must be almost unbearable for you. Please, keep your spirits up, and just know that there's a whole lot of people who are praying and hoping for your adorable little family.

Preslee is a Sullenger and a Siddoway. When we think of these families we think of faith, courage, stubborn, fighters, and family unity. With these strong families, Preslee will fight. She doesn't know of any other way. And there is no doubt she feels the love and support from all the many people praying for her and her family. We are keeping Preslee and her wonderful family in our hearts and prayers. Thank you for the updates. There is so much love and support for all of you!

Preslee is obviously one of Heavenly Fathers most valiant little children. I know she has brought so much joy into both of your lives and everyone around her. She truly is a miracle. Her precious little life is in the hands of our Father. He loves her and he is blessing her every day. We pray day in and out for her, for you and you're families. Our prayers are being answered. It's very humbling to watch you and Pat go through this trial in your lives. You two have shown us all how strong your faith is in our Heavenly Father. We can see the unconditional love that you have for Preslee. She is a very lucky little girl to have such great parents that love and care for her. Tonight I held Kaleigh just a little longer as she fell asleep. I feel so blessed to have her in my life. I appreciate your willingness to keep us updated on Preslee's progress. I pray that Heavenly Father has many more blessings and miracles in store for your little Preslee. We love you and we think about you constantly. Keep your spirits high and always remember our Heavenly Father is with you.

No words are adequate to describe the time that you are enduring. But if you don't already know it, you are physically & invisibly being uplifted, supported and loved by so many who's hearts are undeniably touched by your little girl. My husband is a firefighter & sadly this happens more than one would think, but she is a fighter, a miracle & there is positive outcomes. An immediate one is that she is still here with you. Preslee has been on our family's mind all day long, I can not put into words the effect that your trials & struggles have had upon us. We pray for you & truly do deeply care for you. Continue on, press forward. We will be behind you.

Elder Robert D. Hales has said, "There is nothing that we are enduring that Jesus does not understand, and He waits for us to go to our Heavenly Father in prayer. If we will be obedient and if we are diligent, our prayers will be answered, our problems will diminish, our fears will dissipate, light will come upon us, the darkness of dispair will be dispersed, and we will be close to the Lord." I will continue to pray with all my heart that you continue to have miracles. You have such a sweet family.

I ran across your blog through a friend. I work here in Salt Lake with Gold Cross Ambulance. Just 2 weeks ago we had a 2 year old little girl that nearly drown, and because of the quick response of people on scene before we could arrive, she survived. I pray that your outcome is the same because of the people that happened to be in the right place at the right time to pull her out. I can still vividly remember the dread I felt driving to that call, but I cannot even begin to imagine the feelings I would have if it were my own daughter. You couldn't have a better hospital to take care of your little girl. They are full of the best, most respected doctors you could find. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck!

Your family is truly an inspiration to all. We've been following your story and appreciate all the updates. Although we do not know your family, we want you to know that Preslee is in our prayers. She is so blessed to have so much love and support around her. Years ago, my 1-yr-old little brother went through a traumatic experience that had doctors telling us that he would never survive through the night. If, by some miracle, he did, he would have severe brain damage and probably would be deaf. The Priesthood is a wonderful power--he not only made it through the night, but is now preparing to serve a mission--with no side effects at all. I don't know what the Lord has in store for your little sweetheart, but she's very lucky to have such a strong and wonderful family! Thanks again for the updates--you're in our prayers, Preslee!

We are also strangers to you, but not to the power of the Lord in our lives. Remember that Preslee is in the best hands ever--our Heavenly Father's! We went through a difficult experience with our oldest son when he was the same age, and turning it over to the Lord is the only way! Years from now, you will suddenly realize little miracles or blessings that came to you, that you never saw before from this experience. We are so blessed to have the gospel and faith and hope! Hang in there Preslee! Your extended "gospel family" is praying for you from all over the world.

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
