August

I panicked when I realized it was August. In Idaho, that means summer is beginning to wind down, and I am NOT ready to be cooped up in our small little house again.

Yes, the blog has been neglected a little lately, but for good reason. I’ve been training hard for my triathlon on the 16th, ready or not right?

Our two little guys are officially walking, and life has drastically changed around here. Suddenly, I can’t keep up, our house looks like a warzone! If Ledger forgets to shut the bathroom door, within seconds I have two one year olds having a water fight in the toilet, giggling hysterically. If I don’t put up the baby gate to the kitchen, I have two mouths full of dog food to clean out and a water dish all over the floor.. You get the point.

It’s funny how things change, I now think any woman who has raised three or more boys and lived through it has officially become my hero. We’ve only been at it one year, and there are days I’m not sure we’re gonna survive :) But amongst the chaos, I love it.

This video was taken just the other day, and now they are already walking so much better! Here’s a little taste of what’s going on at home.

I hope you all are enjoying your summer as much as we are!

As a mom of 3 boys I would be more than happy to send you a picture of any of their bedroom floors (or even my laundry pile) to help you feel better. :) If nothing else, we could commiserate together!

I am having my eighth boy in November, and, yes, my house always looks like a war zone. Just wait till they start to stink. Funny thing is, that I am in awe of anyone who can raise twins! I don't know how you do it so pleasantly. i guess we all just put one foot in front of the other and keep going. I have heard that boys always love their mothers, so I hope that's true.

I was smiling...no...laughing through this whole post and the video. I've been thinking of you a lot lately. I have two grandsons...one born just before your twins and the other born just after. They visit quite often along with the other four grandchildren. Life gets crazy nuts around here. Just this past weekend my youngest daughter and her little guy moved in with us. The last two nights we've had a houseful over for dinner. To keep the two little ones out of the kitchen while we're cooking, we shut the gate between the living room and kitchen. The two babies were on the "wrong" side of the gate just screaming and hollering at the same time. We looked at each other and laughed. I teased with my girls "oh my...I remember being so happy when you announced your pregnancies at the same time...what was I thinking?...'it'll be fun' I said." We just laughed again. I have three daughters and ever since my oldest daughter started having children I have hoped for one of them to have twins because it would be so much fun. Even though we didn't get twins we're still loving every minute of having two so close together. One of them just started walking and the other is real close. I've been thinking the bathroom door has a baby magnet in it...and the dog dishes...always upside down over here too! They are so absolutely adorable as are your three little ones. Luckily the joy they bring makes up for the mischief they cause.

Wow! They are fast! My guy is still army crawling. He's the exact age as your twins.

I can't believe how determined they are! So fun and I can only imagine the chaos! 3 kids in general is just hard to keep up on cleaning. Good luck 😜

Lol, Your house will never be clean again. My twin boys & their brother 18 months older keep our house looking like a war zone. And, I clean & vaccum 3 times a day. Doesn't matter, it's still a mess. But, it gets funner!!!! Next summer will be a blast for you. I'm not ready to be inside w/ all 3 boys again for the winter either.

SO wonderful. My mom had a set of twin boys and a single boy 2 years younger. I believe she needs saint hood for putting up with the five of us...I remember helping "clean up" before bed.... War Zone was gentle....

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
