Cookie Monster

Now that Ledger has passed the age his older sister reached, I marvel at his growth each and every day. I find myself incredibly thankful to have him by my side at different times during each day.

The simple tasks that were never performed with Preslee, become some of my favorite moments as a mom when I’m able to do it with Ledger. For example, making cookies. Sure he created a mess, made the task twice as long, and stayed up past his bedtime. But we both loved every minute of it… well until the mixer turned on, he was terrified.

Ledger anxiously awaited to eat a cookie while they cooled, and snuck a few more with his long monkey arms off the counter when nobody was looking. To my surprise, well more of Pat’s surprise, he about lost a tooth when he bit into his cookie. Ledger threw a spoon in while the dough was mixing and managed to break a large piece of plastic piece off the beater. And no, I have no idea how I missed it! Seems nearly impossible to miss something like that right? Yeah, that’s what Pat kept saying :)

Only Sledgehammer could figure out how to pull a stunt like this.

Good times.

Pat thought Ledger earned the title of Cookie Monster for the rest of the night.

Awwww, he is so adorable! If his brothers are as cute as him you're going to be fighting off all the girls one day:)

My beaters just like that broke when I put a hard piece of brown sugar in .. Take them back and they will give you a brand new pair.

Yea, I did that and if its been less than 3 years and you have the outer packaging, you can get a whole new set for free.

So fun to do that together. Not so fun that he broke the beaters though - I just had to order a new set since mine broke too. Wish I had known that they will give you another pair, mine were only a year old when they broke :(

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
