14 Weeks Pregnant with Tiwns

Throw your party hats on, and let’s go celebrate! Preferably with some Mexican food :)  Yesterday, I officially entered into the second trimester, and am thrilled to leave the last 14 weeks behind.
The picture below perfectly describes my appetite as lately. I went from eating a few bites of cereal a day, to wanting to eat everything in sight…seriously, I’m starving.

I’m constantly being asked a couple of questions, so here goes:
1. Were you using any type of fertility drug?
No, we were just extremely blessed.
2. Why did you get another ultrasound at 12 weeks?
Twins are considered a high risk pregnancy, so they perform ultrasounds at least once a month, which means I’ll have one at every appointment for the next few months. That way they can record both babies heartbeats.
3. How do you tell the difference between Baby A and Baby B?
Baby A is the lowest of the two babies.
And a few weeks ago, I received this comment… it wasn’t a compliment.
“If I didn’t know you were having twins, I sure would now.” (While staring at my stomach)
I figure this is only the beginning of awesome comments.
Bring it all on!

  2. I'd just like to point out that I looked bigger than that when I was less pregnant with 1 child.

I had one co-worker tell me, 'Wow, your face is getting so round!'.

    Seriously.

  4. You look radiant! I'll be 13 weeks on Tuesday so you are 1 week and a few days ahead of me. I'm so hoping that I get my appetite back ...it is so frustrating to know you should be eating but you are not physically able to because of multiple reasons.

  20. I have a shirt that I wore while pregnant that says "does this baby make me look fat?" I loved wearing it in public and to see everyones reactions. When I told my neighbor that my baby weighed over 8 lbs at birth she said "wow, that's a good size. But then again you were good sized!" I didnt let it bother me as she is at least 100lbs overweight. You look amazing.

  24. I got asked ALL the time if there were more than two in my belly. Both times there was only one baby. I eventually got used to all the comments and began laughing them off. I am literally all belly. I start showing early and just keep popping out. I don't get hip pain or back pain because my babies are literally only in my belly. I did have to rock a belly brace as I progressed to help with the extended weight, but definitely worth bringing my two boys here.

  25. Hello, you aren't big! You have to remember by baby #3 (&4) your body totally knows what's up and how to make room for growing babies. I am three days ahead of you and this is #5 for us. I am looking way more pregnant than you. And, only one. No doctor's ultrasound but my husband is a vet and we like to borrow the office ultrasound to check out the little babe. Seriously, when you are pregnant is the only time to be "fat" and not give a crap. Healthy yes. Figure? What figure? Who cares. Just let it roll... And eat some chocolate for me, I still can't even stand the thought of it. It's like a mini private apocalypse.

  27. Coming from a Mom who was pregnant with twins not long ago I understand. And it is just going to get worse. People are so rude!! If they thought of what they were saying I would hope they wouln't say it. I put up a pic on facebook at 17 week and go so many comments of how HUGE I was and how people didn't know how big I was going to look at the end if I was that big already. Needless to say that was the last time I posted pics, which is sad. I only gained 41 lbs with twins so I didn't think it was that bad, but owell just take it with a grain of salt!!

  28. I am mom of 16yr old boy Girl/Twins...(5 kids all together) and they are my 3rd and 4th in the 5. 16 years ago I had a lot of ultrasounds too, it's totally normal! I'd guess they are boy/girl twins too. My son's heart beat was always slower then my daughters. Congrats!

  41. I agree that you have nothing to worry about. You look FANTASTIC and you are gonna ROCK that belly. You are growing two humans in there - it is a lot of work and you are entitled to be whatever size is required to get those babies here safely. Enjoy this time with those babies and know you are beautiful <3
