A Quarter of a Century old...

Quick update on Ledger. Surgery went well, and just like the Doctor predicted, recovery has been rough, but Sledge has been a trooper! They told us to plan on a rough two weeks. I'll post later about our experience at the hospital, but wanted to thank so many of you for your support and prayers. We're excited for Ledger to learn to breathe through his nose.

Now on to events from last week...

On Saturday, I turned 25.
Half way to 30.

I love my Birthday, and everything that comes along with it.
Here's a recap, through my iPhone.

Pat let me sleep in, and I woke up to this little guy giving me big slobbery kisses.

Pat told me to get ready... little did I know we were headed to IHOP!
Fact about myself:
I could eat breakfast for every meal. I seriously love it. And every year when someone takes me to dinner and asks me where I want to eat, they roll their eyes when I say IHOP. They always respond, "I'm going to take you somewhere nicer than IHOP for your Birthday dinner." And we never go... until this year.
I enjoyed every single bite of my rooty tooty fresh and fruity :) After breakfast, we sporadically decided to take Ledger to his very first movie - Hotel Transylvania. We didn't know if he'd sit through it, but he did awesome and was mesmerized by the big screen. He watched for the first hour, and then fell asleep. It was a great movie, and I thought it was so fun to have all 3 of us there.

Later that night, Pat took me to Texas Roadhouse, for some ribs :) Two meals out? Spoiled I know, and definitely a new record for me! A record for me!.

Sunday night, Pat grilled up some steaks, and made his very first cake... Better Than Sex Cake. I was nervous he was going to mess it up, but in the end, I was soo impressed! There's nothing better than chocolate cake.
Rhett stopped by to help us eat it, and brought me some cookies.

I had a fabulous Birthday, thank you for all the Birthday wishes.
I decided to save all the cash I received and put it towards a road bike... It will probably take me awhile to save for one, but one day I'll have my very own to ride in a triathlon.

Happy Birthday, Ashley! I TOTALLY love breakfast too, especially going out for breakfast...and IHOP. This last year, my gang also took me to IHOP for breakfast on my bday. :) So, I totally understand. It certainly doesn't sound weird to me. Here's to your little man having smooth recovery!

Happy Birthday! I found this girl's blog and when I read her posts I think of you even though I don't know either of you. Maybe somehow what you have been through can help her: http://mcdonaldfam.blogspot.com/

Silly Girl! You're half way to 50, not 30! Does that make you feel better?

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
