A Little Getaway

Saturday the 18th, Pat and I jumped in the car and drove to Salt Lake. We walked around the Gateway Mall and then met up with the Erikson's (my aunt and uncle) and Walkers (Cache is one of Pat's good friends and his family) at Tucano's. It was my first experience there, and now understand why it was my little brother's favorite restaurant. Pat LOVED it, and I decided it's not the best place to go while pregnant... the smell of the meat was very strong. While I passed on the meat (other than a few pieces) I asked for 3-4 slices of the grilled pineapple every time the guy came around with it. Delicious! Pat promised we'll go back after the baby is born.

We all stayed at Little America and in the morning ran in the rain to get to the conference center to watch David Archuleta's Christmas concert. He sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and it was amazing. Silent Night was my favorite. He really does have an incredible voice.

Hailey Sue jumping into the picture. Deep down I know she fell in love with David.

Pat's favorite part of the trip had to be the brunch at our hotel. He ate plates and plates of crab legs, while I enjoyed the waffles. Yes, Pat was a little disgusted, but at the same time not at all surprised that I ate waffles and fruit. It was great.

Hailey and Hayden so excited that Santa was there!

Thanks Erikson's, it was a perfect weekend and just what we needed!

Lol, I went to Tucanos when I was newly pregnant with my daughter and I couldn't even think about red meat for the rest of my pregnancy without getting physically sick. I still can't bring myself to eat there.

We love Tucanos too! And Little America! We went to the concert on Saturday night and it was a circus and we barely got in, but it was worth it! Glad you got in!

You don't know me but I follow your blog. My son and your daughter are a month apart so your story has been really emotional and touching for me. I have become so inspired by your story to make each day the best with my son and to never take the little things for granted. I believe at one point you said that you would take pictures of everything Preslee did, even the smallest things, and I admire that so much that I started doing that as well! You are truly an amazing person, beautiful inside and out, and have touched my life in a way that will never be forgotten. I can't imagine what you feel everyday without her but I do have a testimony that everything happens in the Lord's way and that through him we receive peace and happiness. Thank you for telling you story and being true to yourself and your faith. You will never know how much I appreciate you!

I just started class today with my special 32 punkins and thought about how your first day went in first grade. You are going to be terrific and they will all fall in love with you as much as we did. We are having play try outs this week. Come and see us in all our glory on March 2nd at 6:30. Love Mrs. T.

    Pat & Ash
This is Lori, Cache's mom. I was so sorry I was sick and didn't get to see you. I think of you two often and pray for you daily. I am glad you enjoyed the concert. I will tell Trent. It was truly a miracle how we got extra tickets. I think they were meant for you. The Lord is good and is always watching over you. Eriksen's are great we love them too so much. Happy New Year, thank you for letting my family be apart of your journey. Keep us updated on the pregnancy Ash, and know you have millions of people praying for you. Pat I love you boy!! Keep in touch.
Tell you parents hi for me! We miss you all!
    love Lori

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
