Broken Things to Mend

I know I've posted a lot lately, but I thought I'd share this video. I think the hardest part about overcoming trials is continually keeping an "eternal perspective." I've listen to this video on difficult days and it reminds me where I need to turn. (Make sure to pause the music on the sidebar)

"It was only when his faith wavered and fear took control, only when he removed his glance from the Master to look at the furious waves and the ominous black gulf beneath, only then did he begin to sink into the sea."

Wow I am amazed by your great faith and testimony. I lost my baby girl a month ago when I was 8 months pregnant and someone recommended this blog to me and it has really helped me get through this trial of loosing a child. I am sorry for you loss. I understand your pain and yours must be harder since you had time with her here on this earth. Thanks for being such a great example and helping me through your blog.

I am going to be honest. I almost didn't watch this right now because I thought I was in too much of a hurry to get to bed. I am so glad I did. It is just what I needed. I know my trials are so small compared to yours and many others, but this gave me just what I needed right now. Thank you for sharing!!! And I agree, post all you want! I love each and every one.

Elder Holland is a great speaker and conveys a message that all need to hear.
"If you are lonely; please know you can find comfort. If you are discouraged; please know you can find hope. If you are poor in spirit please know you can be strengthened. If you are broken; please know you can be mended. --
prayer and time can unlock the doors to comfort and healing.

Ashley, I have been following your blog for awhile now. My husband and I have two sweet boys in heaven, and Yesterday we were told that our one and only boy left on this earth is very, very sick. Today I have just kind of walked around not really thinking of much. I decided to check your blog and I can NOT thank you enough for posting this post. It is what I needed to hear today. Yesterday my husband and I thought our world was crumbling, and today now I have a little faith. So thank you so much! :)

This made me think of the many, times my children were deeply saddened by something in there lives. At times I knew the answer to their problems and other times I didn't. I just want to hold them, help them and fix their problems in times like this. It's heartbreaking. I can only imagine Christ and our Father, heartbroken when we don't have faith in him and let Him help us when He does have the power.
Thanks for reminding me, again, to leave my sorrows with God and let Him comfort me. Cause He can and He will. He isn't only a Supreme Being, He is our loving Father. -Brinkerhoffs

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
