Home Ashley Patrick Pog Tell me, is it worth it?

Tell me, is it worth it?

This is Pog our dog. As much as I love her, I swear I could strangle her! ha So she didn't start out sleeping in our bed, but Pat insisted and I lost that battle. About a week ago in the middle of the night I wake up and Pog is nudging my face. I pushed her away and went back to sleep. I rolled over and started to scream. There was something wet and gooey in my bed and it was all over me! I jumped up and what do ya know, Pog had thrown up all over! Oh was I mad! I went off and told Pat she was never allowed on the bed again! The next night she didn't sleep a wink and howled the entire night in her kennel, but finally we succeeded and she hasn't been on the bed since!

Thursday night Pat got home to find Pog off her leash. Somehow she had managed to break her harness and get away. This means she didn't have any tags with our name on it or her rabies tag. We searched for about three hours all over Rigby. She was no where to be found. Finally Pat called the police to ask what we would do to find a lost dog. She said if they are picked up they give them 24 hours before putting them to sleep. She began asking Pat questions and come to find out they had picked Pog up. We called the vet frantic hoping she wasn't dead. The next morning I showed up to the city office building and do you know what they charge for a lost dog??? 80 dollars. That's right, it's the biggest scam in the world! They charged me for every little thing they could think of. (one of the charges was they didn't know if she had rabies or not so it was a risk to capture her) When she told me 80 dollars, I didn't even know if we had that much! ha She told me that was fine and my dog would just be put to sleep. I handed her my debit card, she freaked out because I didn't have it in cash. As I was driving to the ATM I literally thought to myself, "buy a crib, or get Pog out..." it was a tough decision. Well I decided to rescue this little devil dog, I didn't quite have the heart to kill her. So, our child might be sleeping in a drawer, but at least I saved a life...right?

I think you made the right decision but I'm not gonna lie I don't think I could have done it. But I think you will get serious points in Heaven.

Hey, at least you don't have Chunky who sleeps on your head and pees everywhere! Okay, so maybe yours was worse, but I sometimes wish Chunky could talk and I could put her in time out!

Did you remind the lady at the pound that she probably shouldn't freak out at a pregnant lady if she valued her life? Seriously, I love people like that. That outfit really is cute. Pat will be such a protective dad I'm sure haha.

this was a fun old post to read, I can relate to it because i have a dog (yellow lab) that has been nothing but a pain in the butt, she's always sick, she's alergic to dust mites a.k.a. everything and her medical bills always start at $200 even in the worse times money wise speaking we had have to spend the last money we have in the bank on her, deprived ourself of things because of the dog spences, just because we don't have the heart to see her suffer, all i know is that after paige (our dog) i will never, never never will have a dog again .... like ever !!!

Hi, we're the Sullengers! Life turned upside down for us in 2010 when we lost our daughter in an accidental drowning. Since then, we've documented our highs (life with all five of our kids) and our lows (struggles with grief) but amongst everthing we've experienced, we know as long as we hold on to one another we can get through anything that comes our way.
